Terms of service

These terms cover using Roughwork at roughwork.me. By signing in, you agree to them. If you're signing up a school, you agree on the school's behalf and confirm you're allowed to.

What Roughwork is

Short, hand-drawn lessons in IB Diploma Economics and Physics, with check questions, points and a dashboard for teachers. Roughwork is not affiliated with or endorsed by the International Baccalaureate. Syllabus references are our own and may change; your teachers and the official IB guides come first.

Accounts

• Sign in with a Google account, ideally your school one. Keep it secure; you're responsible for what happens under it.
• A coordinator sets up the school and gets a student code and a staff code. Share the student code only with your students and the staff code only with your teachers.
• Each student who joins uses one seat. Teachers and coordinators are free.

Seats and payment

• A new school gets 5 student seats free to try Roughwork.
• Further seats are bought by the coordinator at the price shown on the Seats page, through Dodo Payments, which handles the checkout, invoices and taxes. Prices include or add tax as shown at checkout.
• Seats are a one-time purchase for the school and don't expire while Roughwork runs. A seat stays with the student who used it.
• If you bought seats by mistake, write to hello@roughwork.me within 14 days and we'll refund the seats no student has used.

Using it fairly

Please don't share codes publicly, sign in as someone else, try to get at another school's data, interfere with the service, or copy the lessons to publish elsewhere. We may suspend accounts that do.

Our content and yours

The lessons, drawings and software are ours. Schools may use them with their students while they have Roughwork. Your learning data belongs to you and your school; how we handle it is in the privacy policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Roughwork running and correct, but we can't promise it will never be down or never contain a mistake. We may improve or change lessons and features; if we make a change that takes something a school has paid for away, we'll tell the school first and offer a fair refund.

Liability

Roughwork is a learning aid, provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability to a school is limited to what it paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.

Ending

A school can stop using Roughwork at any time by writing to us; we then delete its data as the privacy policy describes. We may end an account that breaks these terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the date above and tell schools by email before any important change takes effect.
